Lesson 4 Grains

The basis of every diet and the main source of energy

2 categories:

  • whole grain products (often referred to as brown bread, rice, etc., due to their color) RICH IN FIBER
  • non-whole refined grain products (often referred to as white bread, etc., for the same reason) LOW IN FIBER

Consume 5-8 servings of grains daily. Prioritize whole grain products!

Potatoes are not included in this recommendation. Aim to eat less than 3 servings of potatoes weekly (avoid fried ones).
